Homicide detectives are now investigating the discovery of the body of a homeless man outside a church in Piarco on Wednesday morning.

The man has been identified as Vijay Lutchman Manwah, a homeless person of no fixed place of abode.

According to a police report, at about 9 am on Wednesday 9 December 2020, a party of police officers responded to a call and went to the compound of the Church of the Nazarene located at North Bank Road, Piarco.

There, they found the body of a man lying motionless on the compound. He was described as being of East Indian descent, about 60 years old, slim built, and with greying hair. The deceased was found lying on his left side in a pool of blood. The body was clad in a red jersey and a pair of white and grey short pants. His feet were bare.
