The murder toll for the New Year reportedly stands at six thus far.
This after a Mayaro mason was shot dead and two others left nursing injuries, following an incident in Mafeking on Tuesday morning.
Around 9am, Joel Ellis of Logwood Village, Mafeking and two other men – Michael Singh, 25, and Roland Belcon, 35 – also of Mafeking, were constructing a wall, when a man, dressed in a red coverall, face mask, and fisherman’s hat, walked up to them with a firearm and a cutlass and opened fire.
The suspect then escaped into the bushes.
The three men were taken to the Mayaro District Health Faciity, however, Ellis died on arrival.
Investigations are continuing.
