The North West Regional Health Authority agrees to cover the cost for independent counselling for the parents of several babies who died as a result of contracting a bacterial infection at the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit at the Port of Spain General Hospital.
The Health Minister was asked in the parliament Friday to indicate whether the families have been receiving counselling and other assistance from the State.
Terrence Deyalsingh said the NWRHA has complied with a request made by in a protocol letter from the Freedom Chambers law firm in this regard.
