Security helped bandits rob Supermarket

A security guard was arrested after he was found to be an accomplice in the robbery of Cost Cutters in El Dorado.

On Monday at around 2:15a.m the supermarket was robbed of cash and items by seven masked bandits. When the police arrived, the security guard told them that he was forced to enter the building with the bandits and fearing for his life he complied. However, after reviewing a hidden security camera on the compound, police realized the victim was an accomplice in the robbery, as he helped the bandits steal cash and cigarettes.

He was arrested and is said to be helping police with the investigation.

Cost Cutters Supermarket in El Dorado was robbed early this morning.

Around 2:15am, seven men stormed the compound wearing face masks and hats. They then smashed the glass window of the Supermarket with a hammer to enter the building. The security guard on duty told officers that the bandits forced him to enter the building with them and he agreed, fearing for his life. The bandits took a safe from the Supermarket and escaped in Nissan B13 along the Eastern Main Road.

Police are continuing investigations.
