Kevin Babb’s decision to go looking for a fight with the lover of his former girlfriend ended in death last evening.
Babb was fatally stabbed in the chest during the altercation in San Fernando.
Reports are that around 4:45 pm the suspect and his girlfriend were sitting on the front steps of their apartment, when Babb approached the man with a knife and they got into an altercation.
The suspect then ran up the stairs of the building but Babb followed him.
When Babb emerged outside the building, he had a stab wound to his upper right chest area.
He collapsed on the road and was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after 6pm.
The suspect notified San Fernando CID of what transpired and is now in police custody.
Police are using CCTV footage to assist them with their investigations.
