Government Establishes $10 Million Grant Facility To Assist Yatching Sector

Micro and small enterprises in the yachting sector can now apply to access money provided by the government under the grant fund facility.

Details of the facility were revealed by Minister of Trade and Industry, Paula Gopee Scoon Wednesday afternoon.

The Trade Minister was at the time speaking at a news briefing held at Peakes Yacht Services, Western Main Road, Chaguaramas.

The ten million dollars facility will allow successful micro applicants who earn less two hundred and fifty thousand dollars in annual turnover to benefit from a cash grant of up to twenty thousand dollars to cover one hundred present of business cost.

Minister Gopee Scoon also provided details relating to the various areas the funding will be directed towards.

The Trade Minister said applicants must be a national of Trinidad and Tobago, there must be proof of evidence of experience in the industry and   a police certificate where it is available.
