Prisons Commissioner Deopersad Ramoutar has confirmed that the prisoners who escaped the Golden Grove Prison last night, escaped through the roof of the prison.
Speaking with News Power Now this morning, Mr Ramoutar explained last night’s events and how the daring escape went down.
He revealed that although the noise alerted the guards, by the time they arrived, it was too late.
The Prisons Commissioner thanked the police and revealed that in addition to the search, efforts are being made to secure the prison roof to prevent a repeat of last night’s events.
The re-captured prisoner is believed to be Kevin Jagdeo who was charged with Breaking/Entering and Larceny, as the other four prisoners have been listed by police as still missing.
