Female murder suspect surrenders to police

A woman, who was on the run for almost a month in connection with the murder of a father of two Randy Joseph, has surrendered to homicide detectives.

The 48-year-old woman walked into the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region 3 office in San Fernando around 6 pm on Wednesday, accompanied by her attorney Frank Gittens.

The woman is being detained presently at the Gasparillo Police Station while investigators await instructions from the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The stabbing occurred on October 15 at Houssa Trace, Lighbourne Road, Gasparillo.

His common-law wife Shelly-Ann Mungal who witnessed the incident said her husband was sitting on a chair in the gallery of her mother’s home when the woman accompanied by three men armed with cutlasses walked into the yard.

The woman then stabbed him with the knife. Joseph ran through the house and out the back door. He collapsed and died in the yard. An autopsy confirmed that he was stabbed in his chest and shoulder.

Joseph had an altercation with a man who is connected to the woman earlier that day.

His funeral took place on October 15.
