Criminologist says adolescents react to hostile situations differently; some runaway from home while some commit heinous crimes

Criminologist, Dennis Brown says different circumstances young adults and teens are faced with will propel them to react to situations in a hostile manner.

During an interview with IzzSo media this morning Mr. Brown was asked what would push five teens to want to commit murder.

Mr. Brown said that given reports of the five escapees from the Youth Training Centre (YTC) for adolescents, there can be no clear indication as to what will trigger a young individual to want to commit murder.

Brown went on to question the level of security at YTC and whether or not there seems to be a breakdown in the rational thinking of today’s youth as well as a breakdown in the home.
