Memorial Day Parade on Sunday 12th November

The Memorial Day Parade 2023 will take place on Sunday 12th November at Memorial Park, Port of Spain, with rehearsals this week.

The National Security Ministry says the parade will start at 10:30am and will include a wreath-laying ceremony.

The parade will convene at Queen’s Park Savannah East near Frederick Street and proceed South onto Frederick Street, then east onto Keate Street, entering Memorial Park via the southern entrance.

Following the ceremony, the parade will exit Memorial Park via the northern entrance, proceed onto Queen’s Park West and back to Queen’s Park Savannah East near Frederick Street.

A dress rehearsal will take place from 11am tomorrow and will include ceremonial gun fire which the Ministry says poses no threat to the general public.

From 12:30pm on Sunday, the public will be allowed to visit Memorial Park to pay their respects and lay wreaths.

Traffic restrictions will be released in the coming days by the TTPS.

The National Day of Remembrance is observed annually in honour of those who served and in memory of those who fell in the World Wars of 1914–1918 and 1939–1945.
