Introduce a gun amnesty.
It’s a suggestion coming from Opposition Member of Parliament for Caroni East, Dr Rishad Seecharan.
During the private motion “No confidence in Minister of National Security” in the House of Representatives, on Friday, Dr Seecharan said consideration should be given to put in place a gun amnesty.
He made the suggestion in the context of migrants who may come into the country, some with nefarious activities in mind and the increase in high powered weapons being seized by the police officers.
Dr Seecharan cited urgent need for the illegal weapons to be confiscated and called for the gun amnesty to be introduced.
