Gov’t Remains Committed To Youth Empowerment, Says Youth Development Minister

Several training programmes are available to the nation’s youth which will help empower them and make them better contributors to national development.

These programmes are also helpful in reducing delinquency or curbing deviant behaviour.

Minister of Youth Development and National Service, Foster Cummings, made the comments while contributing to debate on the private motion “No confidence in the Minister of National Security.

The Member of Parliament for La Horquetta and Talparo said the government is determined to do what it has to do when it comes to sustainable development of youths in various areas such as food security and youth intervention.

He said crime fighting is not only for the Minister Fitzgerald Hinds but every citizens, and the Opposition must come on board in the fight against crime.

MP Cummings said several young persons have graduated from the agriculture programme available to them and it will be extended to both a part time and full time arrangement.
