One billion dollars have been raised so far from the Tax Amnesty now in place.
Minister of Finance, Colm Imbert, said he was informed of this development by the Chairman of the Board of Inland Revenue.
Minister Imbert made the disclosure while delivering the national budget in the parliament on Monday.
The Ministry of Finance invited all relevant members of the public to take advantage of Tax Amnesty 2021 and avoid corresponding penalties and interest for outstanding taxes.
The Tax Amnesty 2021 runs from July 5th, 2021 to Friday October 15th, 2021.
Commenting on another topic, Minister Imbert said contrary to speculation no Property Tax is being collected at this time.
Minister Imbert said the Housing Development Corporation will be restructured in addition to the establishment of a new mortgage bank.
