100 scholarships awarded for CAPE; Naps Girls score the most

The Ministry of Education has announced the award of scholarships based on the results of the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE) 2022.

The scholarships in the ten cognate groups are awarded solely based on academic performance.

For academic year 2021/2022, the Government awarded 100 scholarships – 32 Open and 68 Additional.

Of the 100 scholarships, 72 per cent were awarded to female students while 28 per cent were awarded to male students.

Naparima Girls’ High School secured the most Government scholarships this year with 19.

Of the 19 scholarships, nine were in the Open category and were awarded to Renessa Ramsingh (Business Studies), Isabella Mungal (Creative & Performance Studies), Christin Seecharan (General Studies), Farah Ali (Information and Communication Technology Studies), Angelina Stew (Language Studies), Kayla Dookie (Mathematics), Soriyah Rooplal (Mathematics), Taahirah Khan (Natural Science) and Sonja Maraj (Natural Science).

Presentation College (Chaguanas) earned the second most scholarships with 11 followed by St Augustine Girls’ High School, which secured nine scholarships.
