November 23rd this year is the dead line for submissions for the expressions of interest for participation in port operations with request for proposals being issued publicly thereafter.
Minister of Finance, Colm Imbert, during the presentation of the national budget on Monday, said the government is seeking to position the Port of Port of Spain as a major transshipment and logistic hub.
Minister Imbert said the aim of the government in inviting private participation in the port is to establish a more competitive and financially sustainable port system.
