Government Moving To Settle Outstanding Wage Negotiations In The Public Service.

Government is moving to settle outstanding wage negotiations in the public service.

Minister of Finance, Colm Imbert, told the parliament during the budget presentation on Monday he has instructed the Chief Personnel Officer to commence, in 2022, outstanding wage negotiations with the relevant representative trade unions in the public service.

Minister Imbert said the CPO has also been asked to probe the situation where several nurses in the regional health authorities are employed on temporary contracts and to recommend solution to ensure their contracts are regularized.

This exercise Mr Imbert said should be completed by the end of the year.
