Bandits rob men offloading garbage at Beetham Landfill

Two men offloading waste material at the Beetham Landfill were robbed by two bandits armed with knives.

Th incident unfolded around 1pm on Wednesday.

The victims, a 34-year-old of Tunapuna Road, Tunapuna, and a 34-year-old of Griffith Trace, Chin Chin Road, Cunupia, were reportedly offloading waste material when the two men approached.

One of the men allegedly pulled a knife from his waist and pointed it at the victims, as he announced a robbery.

The suspects then proceeded to rob one man of a gold chain valued at $5,000, a gold wedding band valued at $3,500, a wallet valued at $200 which contained $17 cash and an iPhone 12 Pro cellphone valued at $4,500.

The second victim was robbed of a Samsung S10 cellphone valued at $2,000 and a pair of gloves also valued at $2,000.

The suspects later fled the scene by walking out of the site.
