$120,000 worth of marijuana seized in Maracas

Officers of the Maracas/St Joseph Police Station and members of the Trinidad and Tobago Air Guard (TTAG) conducted a joint exercise where a quantity of marijuana was found and seized.

On Tuesday 23rd March 2021, officers under the supervision of Cpl Williams went to Guaratta Village, Maracas, St. Joseph. They observed two men near a house that was under construction. Upon seeing the officers, the men dropped a black duffle bag and ran away.

A search of the bag revealed 26 plastic wrapped items. Police found the items to be marijuana amounting to 26 pounds with an estimated street value of $120,000. The marijuana was then seized and conveyed to the Maracas/St Joseph Police station.

The exercise which was a part of Operation Strike Back 3 was coordinated by Snr Supt Ramdeen and spearheaded by Insp Greene and Sgt Straker.
