Government Seeks Supplemental Funding To Be Distributed Between Three Institutions

The government is asking for a five hundred and seventy-four million dollar supplemental approval to be distributed between the Trinidad and Tobago Mortgage Finance Bank, the Judiciary, the Ministry of Social Development.

Minister of Finance, Colm Imbert, presented the Supplemental Bill in the parliament Tuesday explaining there were some savings from allocations in 2021.

However, Opposition Senator, Wade Mark, raised concerns surrounding the announcement from the Finance Minister calling for more details on the subject.

Minister Imbert then sought to justify the reasoning behind the requested increase for the Ministry of Social Development.

However, Senator Mark claimed the cabinet was ill prepared to deal with this development adding there was need for proper planning in light of an ageing population.
