St Augustine MP Khadijah Ameen has accused a PNM councillor in the San Fernando City Corporation of sexual harassment.
At UNC’s virtual report forum on Monday, Ameen claimed a female worker of the corporation was being sexually harassed and exploited by the councillor, who is the close relative of a government minister.
She said the councillor is accused of locking the woman in his office and “rubbing himself on her” on numerous occasions.
Ameen said that the woman has since made a report to Mon Repos police but no one has as yet been arrested.
She is now calling on Local Government Minister Kazim Hosein to investigate the conduct of this councillor.
