Over $1 million worth of iron stolen from Licensing

Yet another case of stolen metals brings the Scrap Iron Industry in the limelight.

This time, the Licensing and Transport Division has fallen prey to the frequent occurrences of stolen iron.

The Ministry of Works and Transport has confirmed the theft of Iron beams and metals on its compound.

In light of this, the President of the Scrap Iron Dealers Association Allan Ferguson is condemning the act of one of its members.

The stolen metals worth over $1 million were allegedly found on the premises of a Company on Monroe Road.

Ferguson said that the business is a newly opened one that only registered with their organisation last Tuesday.

He says that he has been lobbying Government since 2011 to evaluate laws that permit the operation of foreign dealers.
