Several members of the United National Congress witnessed the swearing in of Chaguanas youngest Mayor.
Newly appointed Mayor of Chaguanas Her Worship Councillor Vandana Mohit, a UNC Councillor for Cunupia, was elected at the first meeting of the Borough Corporation’s Council, following the swearing in of new Aldermen on Tuesday 17th December.
Mohit wasted no time after being sworn in to hit the ground running on the field, with the support of the TTPS, to attend to issues within the Borough.
Ms Mohit is being described as dynamic and driven young woman and is being used to represent the next generation of young nation’s leaders.
Ms Mohit was re-elected for a third term as Councillor in the December 2nd Local Government Election, with a track record of performance and delivery to burgesses.
“I am humbled and honoured, and I am ready to work with the Council to implement programmes and initiatives that will benefit the people of the Borough,” Ms. Mohit said.
Mr Faaiq Mohammed, UNC Councillor for Charlieville, was appointed Deputy Mayor, a position in which he served over the period 2016-2019.
