Marijuana to remain banned in sport following WADA review

The World Anti-Doping Agency says marijuana will remain a banned substance in sport.

WADA said it agreed to review the ban after requests from “stakeholders”.

However, at a meeting of its executive committee today, it decided to maintain the ban.

WADA said in a release that use of the drug “violated the spirit of sport”.

Athletes found guilty of use of the drug face a minimum one month ban.
