Memphis police who swooped down on an unknown gunman in a suspected drive-by shooting were instead surprised to find a 23 year old half naked drunk woman who said she fired the shots because she was celebrating her birthday.
A city cop on patrol claims he saw 23-year-old Keirra Welch, point a black handgun out the passenger side window of a car and fire two shots on a city street.
The cop called for backup with officers swooping down on the car and arresting Welch who was discovered to be in a state of undress.
They located a Glock 17 on the car’s passenger side floorboard along with a clear plastic bag containing marijuana.
Welch, who was clearly intoxicated told police the weed belonged to her and also admitted that she drank at least four alcoholic beverages saying she was just “turning up for [her] birthday”.
Problem is…Welch’s birthday was August 24TH, almost a month ago.
Welch was seemingly unbothered by the officers’ presence reportedly smiling and laughing the entire time while remaining hallway undressed.
She has since been slapped with three related charges and was given bail.
Some online commentators meanwhile have taken a “deep and intellectual” approach to the story asking the “probing, analytical” question…exactly how long after your birthday should you continue celebrating?
