UNC Supports Government’s Plan To Integrate Migrant Children In Public Education System

The Opposition United National Congress supports government’s idea to at the primary level facilitate integration and access to public education by children of migrants.”

Minister of Foreign and Caricom Affairs, Dr Amery Brown, says efforts are taking place for this to occur in the coming school year.

Dr Browne made the comment at a humanitarian breakfast series on Thursday which was hosted by the US Embassy.

Minister Browne said it is going to take some considerable work between now and then, so we can acknowledge language barriers and several other challenges but these are not beyond our capacity to solve.”

Speaking at a news briefing held at the Opposition’s Siparia Constituency Office Friday, Kamla Persad Bissessar described the idea as brilliant but voiced concerns with the implementation aspect of the move.
