Tobago’s active cases at 104 and not 94; Davidson-Celestine makes correction

Tobago House of Assembly’s (THA) Health Secretary, Tracy Davidson-Celestine, has confirmed that there are in fact 104 cases of COVID-19 on the sister isle and not 94 as reported in the May 18th press release.

Speaking on CNC3’s The Morning Brew earlier today, Davidson-Celestine said the release was issued before the Division of Health, Wellness and Family Development knew of the 10 additional cases.

She said “The numbers are actually 104 (active cases) and not 94. We actually had 35 new active cases, but when the release went out, it did not capture the (additional 10) because those results came in after.”

Davidson-Celestine said the number of active cases would increase as more persons came forward for testing.

Meanwhile, as of May 18th, there is an additional COVID-related death in Tobago, bringing the total number to five.
