The TTPS says it does not require the help of the PCA

Public Information Officer ASP Sheridan Hill said that the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service conducts its own investigations into police officers.

He disclosed that they have their own division as well as the Professional Standards Bureau to carry out investigations, and so not require the help of the PCA.

Speaking with News Power Now this morning ASP Hill said the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service are responsible for keeping its own in check.

By way of an example he explained that the PCA isn’t always right in their findings.

When questioned on the remit and recommendations of the PCA he said the body is free to give their recommendations.

He stated that the internal police investigation into the incident is presently ongoing, and is yet to be completed.

He also informed that at this point he couldn’t say how long the investigation would take.
