The interim pension being proposed for members of the Police Service and the Defence Force has nothing to with current negotiations before the Chief Personnel Office.
Confirmation of this comes from Minister of Finance, Colm Imbert.
Minister Imbert admits there has been delay in the pension payment to members of the Police Service and Defence Force.
Speaking during debate on the Finance Number Two Bill in the Senate Tuesday, Mr Imbert said there was a proposal from the Acting Police Commissioner and the Chef of Defence Staff for consideration to be given to an interim pension.
Minister Imbert said action has been taken to address the situation.
