Residents in the Valsayn/St Joseph area are finally getting some much need relief after being marooned for days due to flood waters.
In fact dozens of residents around Trinidad were unable to leave their homes for four days as floodwaters several feet high in some instances remain stagnant.
Valsayn South, Caroni East and other areas in Central and South Trinidad were under water and even as the sun scorched there were no signs of the water receding.
However Councillor for Valsayn/St Joseph Seema Ramsaran – Augustine told News Power Now this morning that the waters in the area are finally receding.
She said that residents had clean-up efforts after flooding two weeks ago and now have to do it again.
And now, with more rains forecasted for this week there is concern of what lies ahead.
She said the solution to flooding issue is simple.
