Cabinet is backing a move where renewable energy is given greater priority.
The measure is being facilitated by the National Gas Company through a project which will focus on more hydrogen projects.
This will utilise wind energy in its venture.
A new company, NGC Green, will carried out the project.
It has been pursued as part of the NGC’s mandate.
Minister of Energy and Energy Industries, Stuart Young, explains the government is also seeking to capitalise on other forms of renewable energy are being explored such as solar power producing plants.
He was speaking at a news briefing this week at the Ministry’s, Waterfront Complex in Port of Spain.
