Repatriation flights from NYC, B’dos and Canada expected over next 10 days

Principal doctor with the Ministry of Health, Dr Maryam Abdool-Richards has revealed that three repatriation flights are due over the next 10 days.

During today’s Health Ministry briefing, Dr Abdool-Richards said these flights will be arriving from New York, Barbados and Canada.

Dr Abdool-Richards also reminded that the MoH works in collaboration with the National Security Ministry, in providing logistical arrangements as well as quarantine arrangements once persons enter TT.

She said on the 14th of January, there will be a repatriation exercise for persons from New York City, and then on the 16th, a similar exercise will be conducted from Barbados. On the 23rd of January there will be one flight from Canada.

According to Dr Richards, there are currently 386 persons being accommodated in 10 State and State-supervised quarantine facilities.

All are persons who recently returned from abroad.
