Police are investigating the chopping of a 33-year-old man near Price Plaza in Chaguanas on Tuesday 7th May, 2024.
Around 1:45am, Price Plaza security guards reportedly heard a man screaming for help and then noticed the victim running from the occupants of a grey van.
Shortly after, several men who were armed with cutlasses emerged from the vehicle and began chopping the 33-year-old man.
The guard subsequently raised an alarm causing the suspects to re-enter their vehicle and flee the scene.
The police and emergency health services were notified and the injured man was taken to the Chaguanas District Health Facility where he was treated and stabilized before being transferred to Mt Hope Hospital.
