Prime Minister Rowley Responds To Allegations Made By The THA Chief Secretary

The Prime Minister says he does not know the Membership and Mobilisation Officer of the Progressive Democratic Patriots, Akil Abdullah.

Dr Keith Rowley explains he has never met or spoken with Mr Abdullah in any form or fashion.

The Prime Minister was at the time responding to what he described as serious allegations against him by Chief Secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly, Farley Augustine, during a Special sitting of the THA today.

The Chief Secretary played into the Assembly’s records, a recording, which he said he secretly made, with Mr Abdullah in which it was alleged he has been in contact with Mr Abdullah and other persons in furtherance of interfering and directing police work.

The Prime Minister also denies knowing, meeting or speaking with Inspector Weaver-Ali and denies meeting with Attorney-at-Law Gilbert Peterson and Ancil Dennis.

The PNM Political Leader said this purported meeting wherein he supposedly directed the Commissioner of Police to take certain action, never occurred adding it is a fabrication by person/s for their own nefarious purpose.
