PM says gov’t managing COVID as best as they can

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has responded to calls for a Commission of Enquiry into government’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The UNC has made requests for such a probe and the question was posed directly to the PM in Parliament today by the Opposition MP for Naparima.

Rowley said “The government will not be distracted by demands of that nature, which is meant to distract and to disturb what we are doing and to send the wrong impression…We will continue to look after the interest and the health of the people of Trinidad and Tobago, as our colleagues continue to try to undermine it.”

Rowley added “We are managing this situation as best we can and the population does not share the view of the Member of Parliament for Naparima.
