Fish vendor Sheldon Hassanali was shot and killed outside his Couva home last night.
Thirty-eight year old Hassanali, who is also the brother of a police officer, was shot around 8:20 pm, while at home with his wife.
Reports are that the couple heard their dogs barking and when Hassanali went to investigate, shots rang out and Hassanali was found by his wife lying on the ground with a bullet wound to the chest.
His wife called her husband’s brother and the police subsequently responded, with Homicide and Couva Police visiting the scene.
Robbery is not believed to be a motive, as nothing was taken.
Investigations are continuing.
