AG Gives His Side Of The Story On Request Made By Auditor General

The Office of the Attorney General and Legal Affairs is willing to pay what has been describes as reasonable fees incurred by the Auditor General for the obtaining of independent legal advice as it relates to a letter dated April 17th this year on whether she is required to consider the amended statements in light of the provisions granted in the Exchequer and Audit Act.

Reginald Armour said he responded to the Auditor General’s request in correspondence sent on April 19th.

At a news briefing on Wednesday, the AG read some of the contents of the letter he sent to the Auditor General which he said was specific and confine to the request made.

He said reports there was a refusal on his part to do so was erroneous and intended to mislead.

The AG also outlined the process which will be used as it relates to the payment of the legal bill in this matter.

He made the revelation at a news briefing held on Wednesday.
