MOH considering drive-through Covid testing

Now that the Ministry of Health has rapid antigen testing ability, it is strongly considering the option of drive-through Covid19 testing.

Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh, speaking in the senate yesterday, said the ministry is now doing training and validation of the rapid antigen tests at the Tobago, Sangre Grande and Trinidad Public Health lab.

These antigen test kits were bought through the Pan American Health Organisation.

He said once training is complete and they are comfortable the antigen testing matches the currently used PCR testing, these antigen tests will be installed at Accident and Emergency units, including at Couva, Rio Claro and other places.
