Asked to outline the anti-crime strategies being utilised by the T&T Police Service to address criminal activity in Trinidad and Tobago and a timeline for results, the top cop said by June, there could be some short term positive outcome and longer term results should be seen by December.

Speaking on Power 102 Digital’s Power Breakfast Show, Minister Hinds said her statements reveal a level of confidence.

He says he is aware she will be held to her timeline by the media and public, but he is nonetheless impressed by her confidence and wishes her well.

Minister Hinds also addressed concerns over the lack of bodycams being used by police officers.

He added that there are already 1 thousand body cams being used by frontline officers and noted that Commissioner Harewood-Christopher has asked that another 4 hundred be ordered for use by officers.
