TTPS deploys safety measures to deter, detect and reduce crimes within POS

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service has deployed several safety enhancement measures to deter, detect and reduce crimes within the city of Port-of-Spain.

In a statement this afternoon, the TTPS said operations are underway to assist the Besson Street, Central Police Station and Woodbrook Police Station Districts and our counterparts at the Port-of-Spain City Police, particularly in heavily shopping areas and commercial hubs.

The exercises will also transcend in neighbouring residential areas in the Uptown and Newtown communities of the capital.

Sustained operations are being supported by Assistant Commissioner of Police (Ag.), North-West, Winston Maharaj, Senior Superintendent (Ag,), Harripersad Ramnarine and Superintendent, Rakesh Ramsook, of the Port-of-Spain Division, and Superintendent (Ag.), Michael Sooker, of the Mounted and Canine Branch.

Citizens are encouraged to remain vigilant and to provide information on any suspicious activities to our frontline officers as we all work together for a safer city.
