The procurement of PAXLOVID and MOLNUPIRAVIR (Merck) to treat COVID-19 patients are being pursued in two ways, one directly from the respective manufacturers and secondly through a Caricom arrangement.
Both options are still in the negotiations phase.
Minister of Health, Terrence Deyalsingh, made the disclosure in the House of Representatives on Wednesday afternoon.
Minister Deyalsingh said there is currently no restriction on the local agents in importing these items.
The Health Minister was at the time responding to questions posed on the subject by the Member for Parliament for Cumuto/Manzanilla.
