There are no records of a security guard with prior allegations of sexual abuse having been hired at the Margaret Kistow Children’s Home.

Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister with responsibility for Gender and Child Affairs, Ayanna Webster Roy, made the revelation in the parliament on Wednesday.

Minister Webster Roy was asked to the provide information on the recruitment process; and how prospective employees are vetted at child-support centres.
