Government Not Considering The Use Of Oral Antiviral Drug, Molnupiravir, At This Time

Government is not at this time considering the use of the oral antiviral drug, Molnupiravir, in light of the recent increase in Covid-19 cases.

Prime Minister, Dr Keith Rowley, told the parliament Friday afternoon the government will only use medication, protocols and procedures approved by the World Health Organization.

Dr Rowley made the revelation during the question and answer period in the House of Representatives.

Opposition Member of Parliament for Fyzabad, Dr Lackram Bodoe, wanted to know from the Prime Minister what steps the Government is taking to procure this drug to aid in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic?

Dr Rowley elaborated on the reasoning behind the government policy on this development adding the drug mention by MP Bodoe is yet to be given approval by the WHO.
