A female soldier was shot and robbed of her vehicle in Chaguaramas during the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Around 2:30am, the 21-year-old woman from La Horquetta was near Caster Cove, standing outside her white Nissan Note Registered PEF 8530 in the company of a 21-year-old female friend from Wallerfield.
Two children, ages 12 and 4 years, were in the back seat.
The women were chatting when a car pulled alongside them.
The suspects immediately ordered the victims to lie on the ground before relieving them of their cellphones.
One of the suspects then shot the 21-year-old woman in her right thigh before fleeing the scene in her vehicle.
The police and emergency health services were notified and the victim was taken to the hospital where she received medical treatment.
The police also went in search of the suspects who are yet to be found. Investigations are ongoing.
