Ruptured Transmission Pipeline Cited For Disruption In Water Supply To South West Customers

A rupture on the 33-inch transmission pipeline, along the San Fernando Bypass Road, San Fernando is cited as the reason for the disruption in water supply to customers in parts of South West Trinidad.

The Water and Sewerage Authority says emergency repair works currently underway are expected to be completed by midnight on Thursday.

Areas affected include:

Gulf View, Bel Air, Coconut Drive, Green Acres, La Romain, Union Hall, Duncan Village, Palmiste, Sunkist, Phillipine, Debe, Cocoyea, Pleasantville, Rousillac, South Oropuche, Aripero, Chinese Village, Avocat Village, Pepper Village, Fyzabad Guapo Road, Siparia Old Road, Siparia, San Francique, Quarry Village, Degannes Village, Syne Village, La Brea Trace, Penal Rock Road.

WASA says customers are further advised that following the completion of these works, it may take up to 48 hours for the supply to normalize to some affected areas.

It says a limited truck borne water supply is available upon request.
