Dr Rai Ragbir warns against histeria and vaccine hesitancy

The Member of Parliament for Cumuto/Manzanilla Dr Rai Ragbir has added his voice on the continuing narrative of vaccination of children 5 to 11 years old.

Noting that the COVID-19 pandemic continues to be a threat to the lives of the people of our nation, in particular our children, Dr Ragbir says that as a Member of Parliament he is live to the issues raised by the “Responsible and Informed Parents” and wishes to join in the public condemnation of this narrative, targeted at stirring public hysteria and vaccine hesitancy.

He has echoed the sentiments of Dr. Joanne Paul in refuting the hysteria induced by this narrative.

He maintains that achieving herd immunity against COVID-19 through vaccination rather than through natural infection and transmission of the disease in the population is the best strategy to terminate the current pandemic of COVID-19.

Dr Ragbir says the COVID-19 vaccines are immunologically effective and can—according to the publications—prevent infections, morbidity, and mortality associated with SARS-CoV2.

He holds that the benefits of getting vaccinated far outweigh the risks associated.

On October 29, 2021, FDA issued an EUA amendment for a new formulation of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for use in children aged 5–11 years, administered as 2 doses, 3 weeks apart.

On November 2, 2021, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) issued an interim recommendation for use of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine in children aged 5–11 years for the prevention of COVID-19. The CDC recommends that children 5 years and older be administered with the COVID -19 vaccines, including boosters.Dr Rai Ragbir warns: “Stop
