Government Seeks To Increase Stock Of State Owned Properties

Government is seeking to increase the stock of state owned properties which its ministries and agencies can occupy.

This is in a bid to cut down its rental costs.

The move will be done via building and acquiring properties.

Minister of Public Administration, Allyson West, told reporters at a news briefing held on Monday the government is also seeking to establish a storage facility outside of Port of Spain to store excess paper as the process of digitalisation continues.

Minister West said the Property and Management Unit will also be restructured to ensure greater efficiency in terms of its monitoring, being proactive, strategic, assessing and auditing property use.
