Gas is here to stay.
So says Energy Minister Stuart Young as he addressed the audience at today’s signing of the Manatee Production Sharing Contract between the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries and Shell Trinidad and Tobago Limited at the Hyatt Regency Trinidad.
While acknowledging the commitment given by countries at the COP 26 conference earlier this month to move to clean energy, Minister Young said T&T will not move away from gas anytime soon.
Minister Young said the manatee deal is evidence that the Government is willing to listen to stakeholders and work with them for the benefit of Trinidad and Tobago.
