Residents of Mayaro and environs are targeted to get water from today

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) said customers in Mayaro and environs, who have experienced a disruption in their normal scheduled pipe borne water supply this week that, arrangements are currently in place to supply these areas over the next 24 to 48 hours.

The normal water supply schedules were disrupted by a power outage affecting the Navet Water Treatment Plant from Tuesday November 10th, 2020 into Wednesday November 11th, 2020, which delayed the commencement of operations to supply various areas.

Communities currently being targeted to receive a pipe borne water supply commencing today Friday November 13th, 2020 include Eccslesville, Agostini, Mile End, Union, Bristol, Mafeking and Mayaro.

Customers residing in the communities of Resthouse, Ortoire , Kernaham and Cascadoux will receive a pipeborne water supply by Sunday November 15th, 2020.

A limited truck borne water supply will be available by request, to customers who are yet to receive a pipe borne supply. For further information or assistance customers are asked to contact WASA’s Customer Call Centre toll free at 800-4420/4426.

In a separate matter, the Authority also advises customers in areas supplied by the Freeport Water treatment Plant that the water supply is currently being provided to Preysal and communities in Siewdass Road and Chickland will receive a pipeborne water supply by Sunday November 15th, 2020.

The Authority wishes to remind customers of the importance of engaging in proper water conservation habits, even as they prepare and celebrate the upcoming holidays.
