While November recorded a sharp increase in the number of Covid cases, December is the worst month on record to date in terms of new Covid 19 infections.
There is no statistical data or evidence to support any cluster of the new Covid Omicron Variant at this time.
However health officials are concerned with having to battle the Delta and Omicron Variants simultaneously.
Epidemiologist Dr Avery Hinds says the month of December is now the highest in weekly and monthly totals for new positive Covid 19 infections.
