Do More To Protect Women At The Workplace, Urges Former Trade Unionist

Stand up and fight for vulnerable women at the workplace.

This is the message sent to the trade movement.

It comes on the back drop of alleged instances of victimisation over working remotely during the covid-19 pandemic.

The concern was highlighted by Post-Graduate Student at the Institute of Gender and Development Studies, UWI and a former Trade Union Executive Officer, Alicia Roberts, during an interview with the Movement And Social Justice which focused “Exploitation of Women.

She cited instances where women were not able to go to the workplace but was still in a position to carry out their duties from home.

Ms Roberts urged persons to join trade unions which can provide them with a level of protection against perceived injustice and mistreatment.
